sports & leisure association

The Association was set up in 2006 as a Community Group but with the objectives of developing a range of sport and leisure activities, events and opportunities for coaching skills.

When these new activities become well enough established they may then become Community Groups in their own right. In effect the Association acts as a catalyst for new ideas so if you do have a good new idea but haven't had the chance to get it off the ground, please get in touch with us - we need new people to come along with new ideas and together we can help make it happen.

In the last year or so, we have overseen the start up of Ju Jitsu classes for young people (Wednesday 7.00pm), Fitness and Circuit Training classes for young people and adults (Thursday 6.30 and 8.00pm), Ballroom and Latin Dancing Classes (Sunday 7.30pm), Table Tennis sessions (Tuesday 6.00pm) and the recent re-start of the Cricket team and net practice sessions (nets Tuesday 6.30pm plus ad hoc matches).

Last summer we organised a week long 'fun activity' event for primary age children in the school holiday in conjunction with Vale Royal Council but this year the resource has been allocated to Delamere CE Primary School. If any children would like to attend this then Vale Royal have the details - you can also lend support to 'Save the School' campaign at the same time.

We really need some new ideas from residents now so please do get in touch to discuss how we can help progress these. There are only 3 of us on the Association committee at this time so we would welcome any volunteers who would like to create some exciting new activities for all age groups.
