Forthcoming Events

Film Nights – January 2021

Further to our paragraph in the December newsletter the Events Group are pleased to advise details of films we are planning to show in January 2021, subject to us continuing to be in Tier 2.

As for our successful screening of Knives Out in November, and in accordance with official guidance, screenings will be limited to 30 tickets. Seating will be at socially distanced tables, each solely occupied by a household or social bubble. Masks must be worn when entering and leaving the premises and if using the toilets. When seated at your table your mask may be removed to eat or drink. The Bar will provide table service as they would if you were seated in the bar. You will be able to purchase alcoholic drinks before the screening and during the interval without the need to purchase a substantial meal – provided you have a ticket.

Film Nights January 2021

Sunday 10th January at 16.00 – La Fille Mal Gardee (CertificateExempt)

Filmed live at the Royal Opera House, La Fille Mal Gardee (The Wayward Daughter) is a comic ballet full of humourous elements and youthful passions. From dancing chickens to grouchy guardians as well as an unwilling suitor more besotted by his umbrella than the girl his father wants him to marry, along with a clog dance and a twirl around the maypole. La Fille Mal Gardee is sure to be a delightful and joyous antidote to those post-festive-season-blues.

Thursday 28th January at 19.30 – Misbehaviour (Certificate 12)

Another feel-good film bringing a rather British sort of wackiness to a bizarre and somewhat farcical true story. It is based around the events at the 1970 Miss World contest, which erupted in controversy through feminist protest, leading to legendary host Bob Hope covered in flour, the BBC covered in embarrassment and the fledgling Women’s Liberation Movement covered in glory. The film stars Keira Knightley and Jessie Buckley as protestors from very different backgrounds and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as one of the competitors who ends up turning the then current ideal of beauty on its head.
